The PDS Virtual Classroom workshop is taking place on Wednesday 21 September from 12.45pm – 2.00pm.
The guest speaker will be Vicky Wells from the College of Policing. Vicky is the ICT Learning & Standards Manager for ICT Learning Programmes where she and her team are responsible for the design and delivery of the College’s PNC/PND/VISOR learning programmes as well as the programmes for Airwave Tactical Communication Advisors. Vicky has also been supporting the College of Policing’s ASPIRE Leadership Development Programme.
Facing a high demand of delivery, Vicky and her team had to find a way to continue to deliver their essential training programmes to forces. The team have now delivered a variety of learning programmes over the last two years, and Vicky will take us through the process that her team have gone through from having to re-think their approach to the learning programmes in an environment where Microsoft Teams was being introduced, through to successfully delivering the programmes to over 1600 people.
Vicky will be covering the thought process she had to go through to over the last couple of years, the lessons they have learnt along the way, and some of the cultural changes policing needs to consider when looking to embrace a blended learning approach. She will also give us a sneak look into the thinking and plans for the future.
The session will be really beneficial to forces at all stages of their development of a blended learning offering – from those that are just setting out their plans to those that are looking to mature their offering.
