Knowledge Hub upgrades and service downtime from 29 to 31 August
The Knowledge Hub is getting a major upgrade over the weekend of 29 to 31 August 2025. This upgrade will improve usability, performance, and security, making it easier for users to collaborate, manage documents, and access resources across policing.
While upgrades and changes take place, the Hub will NOT be available to use, so please make sure you take the key steps indicated below. This is a scheduled downtime period, following a series of regular updates to Knowledge Hub users during the summer. We will make the upgrade outside of normal business hours to minimise the potential for disruption.
What’s changing?
Here’s what users can expect from the new version of Knowledge Hub:
- Simpler access – A multi-factor authentication system for easier signing in (no app required).
- Cleaner interface – A refreshed layout with most-used features front and centre.
- Smarter document management – Expired documents marked, not deleted.
- Improved group admin tools – Resend or remove invitations to groups easily.
- Network-wide controls – Permissions enabled across multiple groups to simplify the management of large teams and cross-agency projects.
- Mobile-friendly design – Seamless experience across mobile devices to support on the go.
- Speed and stability – Faster page loads, smoother uploads, and bug fixes.
What you need to do
To implement these improvements, the Knowledge Hub will be temporarily offline from 29 to 31 August.
We recommend that for anyone using the Knowledge Hub, particularly those who have responsibility for managing a site or Group, that they:
- Save any work before Friday 29 August.
- Download any documents they may need over the weekend.
- Use alternative communication methods for anything urgent.
- Spread the word with colleagues and fellow users.
What happens next?
Once the upgrade is complete, the Knowledge Hub support team will host training sessions to help users and administrators make the most of the new features. Details will be shared once the platform is restored.
