PCC delegates visit NMC headquarters
The Association of Police and Crime Commissioners North West members were given a tour of Police Digital Service’s National Management Centre by our colleagues this week. They were joined by the Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Kate Green.
David Allen, PCC for Cumbria and Chair of the Police Digital Service Board, said of his visit: “It is clear that forces get a great deal of assistance and additional protection from the National Management Centre, via the Police Digital Service, and it helps to keep forces and their data secure in a challenging digital world.”
Deputy Mayor Green said: “This was a very interesting and informative visit, which reassured me of the expertise and support available to help keep forces’ data safe from cyber attack.”
Emily Spurrell, Merseyside PCC said: “It was incredibly useful to understand challenges forces face around cyber security but also reassuring to see the impressive operation in place to support law enforcement agencies to protect themselves and, therefore, protect the public.”
Dr Anna Hopkins, CEO at the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, said: “I thought it was a really fascinating visit. I feel very reassured that the area and level of expertise is able to keep us safe. The room we went into and all the work across the different teams was just incredible to observe.”
