Press Release – Minister to address delegates at the annual Police Digital Summit
The Police Digital Service (PDS) and the National Police Technology Council (NPTC) today announced that the Rt Hon Chris Philp MP, Minister for Crime, Policing and Fire, will be addressing delegates at the third annual Police Digital Summit in Brighton this week.
The event, co-hosted by PDS and NPTC, is set to be the biggest yet, attracting delegates from across the globe and welcoming leaders from policing, government, and industry, who will share valuable insights and discuss the latest advancements in digital transformation in policing.
This year’s theme, ‘Stimulating the Future’, focuses on fostering innovation, inspiring progress, and driving positive change within the realm of law enforcement and technology.
Policing Minister Chris Philp MP said: “Science and technology plays an ever-increasing role in keeping this country safe, and I am delighted to speak at the Police Digital Summit about how this government is supporting innovation.
“We have only scratched the surface of how tech such as live facial recognition and drones can protect our streets, and how valuable time can be freed up by automatic redaction and AI.
“This game-changing technology will be key to keeping one step ahead of criminals and reducing crime in our communities, and we will continue to do all we can to back this revolution.”
The Summit promises a dynamic agenda featuring keynote speakers, engaging panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, covering a range of topics including:
- Building Cyber Resilience and Defending as One
- Delivery Landscape Reform Project (DLRP)
- Performance through leadership
- The role of the Practitioner
- On the horizon – Policing the Metaverse
- Ethical use of data to drive AI
- Enabling the future: Digital Strategy and innovation
