TecSAFE is a mobile safeguarding solution, officially supported by the Home Office. This bespoke technology enables an effective and intelligence-led police response across the UK in support of vulnerable individuals, including victims of domestic abuse, stalking, harassment and other related crimes.
The TecSAFE team has been recognised and awarded by VAWG and Operation Soteria in 2024 for their commitment to tackle violence against women and girls through technology.
32 Home Office police forces have now adopted TecSAFE with other forces at varying stages of implementation. Additional 6 non-Home Office police forces have also adopted the solution, including the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Police Scotland and the British Transport Police.
How it works
TecSAFE operates 24/7, 365 days a year to support police forces with responding to emergency calls.
Through a unique protocol, TecSAFE calls get connected directly to police, where officers can access real-time tracking capabilities and gather intelligence about both the victim and the perpetrator. The information is viewable in any police control room of any force that has adopted TecSAFE, thus ensuring a consistent and efficient response across all police forces where the service is live.

Use cases
TecSAFE has prevented serious injury and potentially homicide on multiple occasions, by facilitating and enabling a prompt and effective police response in emergency situations.
The Prevention and Vulnerability Hub in Cambridgeshire Constabulary used TecSAFE to successfully protect a victim of domestic abuse whose perpetrator had been released from prison. The victim themselves testified to the reassurance provided by the service.
Following a prison release, a perpetrator – who had a documented history of domestic abuse – was freed in Dorset. They went straight to the victim’s residence and launched a violent attack with a knife. By activating their TecSAFE device, the victim was able to discretely call for help and was rescued by the police. Reflecting on the incident, the victim shared that TecSAFE “saved their life.”
Welsh police were able to respond to a victim of a high-risk domestic abuse and honour-based violence incident who fled their home with their children in a state of panic and distress. By activating TecSAFE, police officers were able to locate and escort them to a safe refuge.
