DDaT Project Manager – Avon and Somerset Police
Avon and Somerset Police has a vacancy for a Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Project Manager, working within our IT directorate. You will work as part of a team working on a change portfolio of over 120 projects, delivering solutions to colleagues within the organisation and to the public we serve.
We are looking for people with experience of project or programme delivery in an IT setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the successful delivery of technical projects from initiation to closure, working with senior management and internal and external stakeholders to ensure that projects deliver against required timescales, costs, benefits and quality.
- Ensuring projects are managed according to common standards and processes, putting in place appropriate documentation, controls, governance and reporting arrangements.
- Manage the resources assigned to projects, including co-ordination and day to day task management of technical resources within the IT Directorate, external suppliers, contractors and other resources as appropriate.
- Operate as part of a team of project, programme and portfolio management professionals – engaging in a culture of shared learning, continuous improvement and professional development.

What we are looking for:
- A skilled negotiator and influencer – able to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders and commercial / third party suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to utilise a range of channels, adapt styles to suit a variety of situations and ensure complex matters are articulated clearly.
- Experience of working in a mature IT environment, delivering digital / data / technology change – ensuring projects are delivered in line with required timescales, costs, benefits and quality.
- Experience of using and applying industry standard change/project/programme management methodologies including waterfall and agile approaches would be advantageous.
