Football Operational Policing System (FootOPS, for short) is a service used by the UK Football Policing Unit (UKFPU). It is designed to support the Unit’s day-to-day activities across three distinct functions:
- Hate Crime – Provides a single view of all online and match-day hate crime reports, supporting their investigation and national reporting.
- Major Events Management – For international fixtures, or major tournaments such as the Euros or World Cup, FootOPS provides the unit the ability to manage all aspects of intel gathering, arrest, port sheets, tasking and associated football banning orders.
- Intelligence – Tracks intelligence associated with nominals and known groups ensuring this information is available during major events, which is shared with the Police National Database (PND).
How it works
Built on the Microsoft Power Platform, FootOPS replaces three previously siloed systems with a unified solution that simplifies technical maintenance and improves operational efficiency. It ensures that the UKFPU can respond to dynamic event environments with coordinated, informed decision-making.
The platform also provides daily briefings, port sheet management, tasking, and the handling of hate crime reports from both online and match day sources.
