Every digital poppy counts
The Police Digital Service (PDS) is supporting the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
Amidst social isolation and the cost-of-living crisis, supporting our Armed Forces community has never been more vital. For more than 100 years, the Legion has been raising funds through the Poppy Appeals to support those who have served and their families in their time of need.
This year, PDS has decided to take the traditional Poppy Appeal digital and allow all colleagues, partners, family and friends to participate. Through a website, specifically designed for the occasion, you can download your favourite Teams background and use it during virtual meetings to show your support and promote the campaign. The website also allows you to donate to the Royal British Legion, if you wish to do so.
How it works
- Visit the website: https://bit.ly/PolicePoppyAppeal.
- Click ‘Make a donation’: you can choose to donate a discretionary amount (minimum £1).
- Download a Poppy Appeal Teams background: make sure you download a copy rather than ‘save as image’ to ensure you get the best quality version.
- Now, you can change your Teams background to promote the campaign.
- Share the PDS website link and use social media to spread the word and encourage others to donate to this amazing cause.
