Staying safe from cyber threats and risks

The Police Digital Service (PDS) strives to support policing’s response to the threats and risks of cyber-attacks.  

Ransomware is one of multiple threats and risks faced from cyber criminals. Did you know that since the beginning of 2025, the PDS’s National Management Centre (NMC) has observed over 4,100 victims of ransomware including 149 UK victim organisations. These attacks have resulted in the supply chain for both policing and other emergency services being impacted.  

The PDS NMC operates 24/7, 365 days a year to support police forces with responding to cyber security risks, threats and incidents.
